Dr. Heather Bunting

Owner, DVM

My name is Heather Bunting. I am the founder and veterinarian of Kindred Animal Hospital. I dreamed of being a veterinarian since the age of five. I grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish — pretty much any pet my parents would allow! I began working in the veterinary field at the age of 16 as a kennel technician in high school, graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Animal Science in 2003, and graduated with my doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2009. I went on to complete a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery in Los Angeles and then practiced in the Redondo Beach area. My Texas roots, however, could not be denied, and I moved back to Texas in 2013. After practicing at Bulverde Animal Hospital for five years I decided to pursue my ultimate dream and start my own practice.

My practice philosophy is to incorporate each individual pet’s and family’s needs while providing the highest quality medicine available. I strive to strengthen the human-animal bond by keeping your pet happy and healthy throughout every life stage. I strongly believe in decreasing my patients’ stress while in the hospital and want them to feel at home when they visit us. One of the best parts of being a veterinarian is you can love on your patients!

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and spending time on the river. I also tinker with carpentry; a trait passed down from my grandfather. I am an avid Texans and Aggie fan. My fur baby family includes a fluff ball orange cat named Lupe, an ankle biter Yorkie named Chewie, and Bella, a 15-year-old Catahoula, who you will probably see wandering around the clinic.

I am excited about the opportunity to care for your four-legged family!

Client Services Coordinator

Mindy has a big heart for all animals! She grew up in a very small town in north Texas and has always had a house full animals. She has a history with Early Childhood Education as she was a preschool teacher for 7 years! Mindy’s favorite part of this job is the opportunity she gets to interact with all the great pets and clients we see here. She currently has a nine year old mini poodle mix named Daisy that she adores. Mindy’s hobbies include going to the river and lake, getting lost in a good book, playing sand volleyball and going to Texas country music concerts!

Technician Assistant and Client Services Coordinator

Cela is a native Texan and grew up in the Seguin and New Braunfels area. Her experience with animals began when she was young helping the animals on her land. She was very active in her local FFA chapter and showed rabbits for 4 years and volunteered at a small practice. Her love of animals began when she found and nursed a baby deer back to health. She has 3 fur babies of her own that she adores named Lucy, Maggie, and Doc. In her free time Cela enjoys painting, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
